Red Ribbon Week
We RULE! We are a BULLY & DRUG FREE SCHOOL!

October 20th – 24th, 2014

Red Ribbon Week is dedicated to Federal Drug Enforcement Agent Enrique Camarena, who was killed in Mexico by drug traffickers in 1985. After his death, angry parents began to wear red ribbons showing their support and dedication to creating a drug free America. In 1988, Congress officially recognized the first National Red Ribbon Week.

The Boise School District now proclaims Red Ribbon Week as a time for students, parents, and the community to work toward a drug free environment. We talk about making healthy choices now and in the future. Activities planned for the week are listed below.

During the school year, students will learn about the dangers of drugs, including tobacco and alcohol. They will also learn refusal skills because Hawthorne Hawks are too smart to start!

If you have questions, please contact Sara Wright by e-mail sara.wright@boiseschools.org or phone 854-5007.
